GCA is looking for a Full-Time Elementary Administrative Assistant to provide support to the Principal, Vice Principals, Staff, Students and GCA Community. The successful candidate will be highly professional, organized, detail-oriented, self-motivated with strong technology skills. They should also be able to commit to working from 7:30am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities for the full-time Administrative Assistant will be wide in scope and will include many different tasks and responsibilities. Responsibilities may include but not be limited to: Admin assistant to the Elementary Principal & Vice Principals Co-ordinate and book meetings
Manage Calendar
Knowledgeable of whereabouts of Principals
Document (ppt, word, excel) creation and editing
Record meeting minutes
Filing for the Principals
Screen incoming phone calls
Point person for greeting and assisting parents and guests as they arrive Accept payment from parents as per accounting policies
Assist with managing the student information system (PowerSchool) Take attendance for all of K-Grade 5 students (morning and afternoon), making sure all students are accounted for
Contact parents / guardians for any unexcused absences
Track student excused absences and late arrivals in PowerSchool
Attendance reports
First point of contact for infirmary needs and able to provide CPR/First Aid as required
Printer and copier support
Self-initiated projects and tasks
Supervision as required (indoor & outdoor)
Managing lost & found for school
Primarily working with children ages 4 to 10
Qualifications Is able to clearly express his or her faith and relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour
Agrees wholeheartedly with and abides by the GCA Statement of Faith without reservation
Successful completion of a Police Information Check; including Vulnerable Sector Search to be completed no later than 6 weeks after employment
Skills Effective communication skills
Ability to handle highly confidential information
Excellent English written and oral communication skills
Ability to work well under pressure, prioritize and meet deadlines
Ability to make sound judgement and decisions
Ability and desire to assist stakeholders in a friendly and professional manner

This Monday to Friday, full-time position (7:30am to 4:00pm) will train in June 2024. The full time start date will be August 20, 2024 and will continue until the end of June 2025. Application Package
