Special Assignment Teachers (Central SAT) Elementary Instructional Coach
for the 2024-2025 School Year
Location: Red Lake Area
Terms and Conditions Will Be In Accordance with the Elementary Collective Agreement
$57,601 - $114,290 annually*
This position will be posted on a three (3) year interval
PROJECT OBJECTIVES To increase student learning and achievement in literacy and numeracy
To implement a range of high impact instructional practices and assessment practices in schools designed to identify and meet the needs of diverse learners; RESPONSIBILITIES Support student learning of literacy and numeracy in K to 8 classrooms and focus on improving student achievement
Support assigned schools with system priorities to improve student outcomes
Work as a member of the central team to support the implementation of culturally relevant pedagogy and culturally responsive, equitable and inclusive learning environments
Plan and work alongside teachers in their classrooms, as well as model and/or demonstrate effective instructional and assessment strategies
Participate in PLCs and bring the importance of data and effective instructional practices to the PLC table
Create resources to support current classroom pedagogy
Attend PD sessions and meetings virtually and in-person
Support universal screening and data collection
Travel within the region occasionally
QUALIFICATIONS
Ontario Teacher Qualifications required; Primary/Junior/Intermediate; excellent facilitation and communication skills; strong planning, time-management, organization and collaboration skills. Experience supporting or implementing a strong literacy and numeracy program at the school or classroom level is an asset. The willingness and ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with others. Valid drivers license required.
