1.0 CONTGrade 6 and Hockey Academy
Position Description:
Reports to the District Principal of Academy Programs
Plan the scheduling of events and services to meet District Academy program goals
Collect data and/or conduct surveys on all areas of District Academy programs
Coordination and facilitation of promotion and on-ice instruction of the Districts Hockey and Advanced Hockey Academy
Maintain necessary records/files on District Academy programs
Coordination and facilitation of professional coaches that provide instruction under the guidance of District Hockey Academy teacher
Budget management of the Hockey Academy
Provide direct liaison to develop District Academy Program linkages and referrals to academy programs
Respond to and resolve issues of District Academy participants
Organize and attend workshops that are specific to District Academy programs
Qualifications:
A degree in Physical Education or advanced training and experience coaching Hockey
Experience running an Academy level program
Ability to teach hockey skills including, passing, puck handling, modern offense and defense concepts
A working knowledge of Provincial Hockey development concepts, including individualized player development, and supporting sports sciences (examples: nutrition, motor development, biomechanics, physiology, conditioning, and sports psychology)
The starting annual salary for this teaching position ranges from $58,635 to $106,217, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. We also offer a competitive benefits package and pension.
