District Information Technologist
JOB FUNCTION:
Reports to the Director of Information Technology or designate.
Installs and maintains computer hardware and software for a multi-site School District, within District technical standards.
Administration and maintenance of all assigned School District on Premise and Cloud solutions.
Administration and maintenance of all wired and wireless School District Networks.
Ensure security standards are developed, implemented, and adhered to.
Ensure privacy laws, regulations, procedures, and policies are adhere to.
Create and maintain documentation for IT operations and users.
Provide Service Desk support and training services to staff, students and parents as directed.
Stay up to date with IT industry trends, risks, and practices, and make recommendations for improvements.
Assist in incident response as directed.
Work with procurement and vendors as directed.
Other related duties as directed
QUALIFICATIONS: A degree or diploma in an Information Technology field.
Minimum 3 years of working experience within a complex network environment.
Extensive experience managing Windows 10 devices.
Demonstrated strong working knowledge of Office 365.
Experience resolving workstation hardware and software issues. Extensive experience managing Active Directory. Hands-on experience with computer networks, network administration and network installation. Chromebook management is considered an asset. Experience managing Exchange Email System, SharePoint and Teams experience considered an asset. Microsoft Certification in Office 365 or Azure considered an asset. My Ed BC, Avaya Voice mail and Linux experience considered an asset. A valid BC driver's license is required and the ability to independently travel to various sites. A positive attitude towards learners of all ages. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent time management skills and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to be self-directed, and meet deadlines and department project milestones. Ability to work effectively with school and site-based teams, consultants, and resource personnel (business partnerships and outsourcing). Commitment to continuous improvement, staying current regarding the required IT job skills and technological changes. A combination of technical and interpersonal skills is essential. The ability to understand and effectively carry out verbal and written instructionsHours of Work & Salary: 40 hours per week, 8:00am to 4:30pm, Monday - Friday
$39.65 per hour ($38.40 base rate, plus $1.25 per hour Labour Market AdjustmentApplication process
