SECONDARY SECRETARY/RECEPTIONIST
Full-Time (35 Hours Per Week) 10 Month Position (1.0 FTE)
Start Date: Immediately; Duration: Permanent
Qualifications Successful completion of a one-year post-secondary secretarial studies program plus one-year related job experience, or equivalent;
Good working knowledge of a computerized environment utilizing word processing, spread sheets, student information system, accounting, internet, and e-mail, as well as other office equipment;
Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced high school environment with excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks;
Strong interpersonal communication skills with ability to function effectively with staff, students, parents, members of the public and others;
Ability to deal with adolescents in a calm, compassionate and professional manner;
Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as excellent telephone manners;
Ability to record and summarize messages effectively; and
Keyboarding skills of at least 55 w.p.m.
Duties/Responsibilities Answer incoming calls, respond to general inquiries, direct calls as required and take messages;
Greet visitors to the office and direct to the appropriate person;
Sort and distribute all incoming mail and faxes and arrange courier services as required;
Provide secretarial assistance and general office support by maintaining files, typing correspondence and reports and distributing as directed;
Photocopy and prepare material as required; and
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Principal.

The Brant Haldimand Norfolk Catholic District School Board offers a Christ-centered education to over 13,000 students from Brant, Haldimand, and Norfolk counties, the City of Brantford, Six Nations of the Grand River and Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. The district has approximately 2,100 full and part-time staff committed to supporting Belonging, Teaching and Learning, and Wellness for all.
