Commencing February 3, 2025 Position Summary:
This position commences in Semester 2, February 3, 2025 and continues until June 27, 2025. In the event that this appointment is continued beyond the initial term, based on Ministry funding and at the discretion of the Board, the teacher will have the option to continue in this assignment or return to their original school, subject to the identification of surplus.
Algonquin & Lakeshore Catholic District School Board will partner with Loyalist College to offer a Dual Credit opportunity for select students in the form of a School Within A College (SWAC). This program offers students with 22 or more accumulated credits the opportunity to earn secondary school credits and college delivered Dual Credits at the college campus.
The SWAC teacher will be responsible for programming for students to achieve their secondary school credits, through a variety of opportunities including traditional courses, blended and online learning, coop, credit recovery and workshops. The teacher will create a collaborative learning community on the college campus where students experience the college environment and complete their final credits required for graduation.
Qualifications: Certificate of Qualification from the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT)
Intermediate/Senior Qualifications
Special Education, Part 1
Minimum of 5 years classroom teaching experience
