Chinook School Division is seeking a candidate to work a t otal of 3 0 h ou rs/week in the position of L ibrary Te chnicia n ( 6 h ou rs/week) and Educational Assi stant ( 24 h ou rs/week) at B urstall School.

Duties and R esponsibilities Assist teachers and/or students in the location and use of Resource Centre materials
Assist in public relations, including planning and implementing visual displays and programs in the library through appropriate use of bulletin boards and other spaces.
Maintain computer-based circulation and cataloguing protocols
Process resource material (shelving, filing, laminating, etc.)
Promote the vision, mission, principles and goals of the Chinook School Division
Purchasing resources for library
Assisting staff and students with copying, scanning and printing jobs
Minor maintenance to printers and xerox copier
Willingness to meet the health and hygiene needs of children as required
Work one on one with students and within a classroom setting
Willingness to accompany a student on the bus to and from school as required
Based on needs of individual students, provide individual students with assistance in speech, motor, and language development and social and life skills
Work as part of a team in development and implementation of Individual Improvement PlanEducat ion, Qualifications, Knowledge a nd Experience Educational Assistant certification or early childhood training an asset
Proficiency in the use of computers such as word processing, database systems
Related training or experience in the library field would be an asset
Ability to do medium work (exerting up to 50 lbs of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs of force constantly to move objects)
Knowledge and experience within Google platform
Ability and experience in working with children
Physical ability to work with active students
Strong interpersonal and relationship skills, and an ability to work in a team environment
A positive and flexible attitude to change
