Job Summary & Responsibilities

At Alexander Elementary, our mission is to work as a team, recognize all our students needs and individuality, set high expectations, consistently care for and respect ourselves, our colleagues, our students and their parents, so that our students achieve their personal best at Alexander Elementary School. The schedule for this temporary part-time position is flexible.

The starting annual salary for this part-time Elementary School Teacher position ranges from $24,250.40 to $42,486.80, with placement on the July 1, 2023 Teacher Salary Grid based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.Education & Experience Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) Certificate from an accredited program

Training and experience administering and interpreting IPT Assessments

Familiarity with IELTS instruction

Familiarity of the BC ELL Standards

Experience teaching ELL learners at the Secondary level

Experience using technology to facilitate language acquisition

Eligible for Abbotsford Academic English Language Program certificate

Eligible for B.C. Certification

Satisfactory teacher evaluation and/or final practicum reportsTeaching Competencies
