Pleasant Valley Secondary This is a temporary assignment effective May 6, 2024 to June 14, 2024 or return of teacher to full contractual FTE whichever comes first. This assignment consists of French 10 and 12.Qualifications: Bachelor of Arts or Education (Secondary emphasis preferred);
valid BC teaching certificate and current membership in the Teacher Regulation Branch.
Teachers applying for this position should possess the following attributes: fully bilingual in French and English;
academic credentials and/or experience in teaching secondary in the above noted subjects;
working knowledge of the renewed curriculum at the secondary level;
demonstrated successful teaching at secondary level;
ability to teach French at the above noted grades;
demonstrated ability and willingness to team teach including collaborative planning;
commitment to involving parents in their childrens learning;
commitment to fostering a collaborative and cooperative working environment;
excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment with other staff members;
committed to stimulating student interest and confidence in learning;
evidence of ability to motivate secondary students;
demonstrated use of a variety of instructional and assessment strategies including criterion referencing and formative assessment.
