Start Date: August 26, 2024 Aurora Montessori School is a co-educational Montessori private school located in the heart of Aurora, Ontario on 14 acres of natural conservation lands. Aurora Montessori School seeks an experienced Montessori or OCT-certified teacher for our expanding Middle School program. The ideal candidate will have a desire to nurture and inspire each student and contribute their skills and talents to extra-curricular activities and all facets of school life. They will develop their students unique learning needs with care and thoughtfulness while incorporating a holistic and balanced approach to teaching that includes academic rigour and the development of strong life skills, work habits and social-emotional skills.

JOB REQUIREMENTS Montessori Adolescent/Secondary I or I/II Diploma (MACTE/AMI/AMS) and/or

Bachelor of Education degree (Junior/Intermediate qualifications and an OCT member in good standing)

Must be able to work extended hours to participate in school activities, including parent evenings, Open Houses, extra-curricular activities, overnight trips, concerts, and other school events

As a condition of employment, successful candidates will need to provide a current criminal record check with Vulnerable Sector Screening from the police jurisdiction in which they reside

Standard First Aid and CPR/AED Level C

Up to date Immunization and Health Screening/RecordAdditional Assets Coaching experience is considered a strong asset

Proficiency in technology and skilled in Office 365 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)

Confident using Zoom or Teams for video conferencing and being on-camera

Knowledge of EDSBY Learning Management System

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Work collaboratively to plan and deliver a robust and authentic Montessori/Ontario curriculum

Design and facilitate learning experiences that support the individualized learning needs of all students

Develop a safe, caring, and engaging learning environment that is grounded in AMS core values of respect, inclusivity, inquisitiveness, and kindness

Monitor, provide feedback and assess student learning using a range of tools and strategies

Communicate positively, effectively, regularly and with discretion with students, parents and colleagues
