Invites applications for the position of:

Behaviour Resource Worker

OSSTF - PSSP 2 - $27.25 - $44.50 per hour (plus vacation pay)

One (1) Temporary Part Time Position (0.8 FTE) to June 28, 2024

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Supervisor, Behaviour Resources Services, the Behaviour Resource Worker provides direct service to students with a range of behavioural, social, emotional, developmental and mental health issues using individualized, small group, and class-wide approaches.

In addition, Behaviour Resource Workers perform behaviour assessments and will use evidence-informed practices to develop and implement behaviour management plans for a group of schools.Major Responsibilities: Provide direct service to students who experience social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.

Develop and implement proactive programs and presentations for students experiencing social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties.

Provide classroom and student focused consultation regarding behaviour management, intervention strategies, and implementation of programs to promote change.

Perform behaviour assessments, develop and implement behaviour management plans using evidence-based and informed best practices.

Liaise with Teachers, Principals, Board personnel, parents and outside agencies as appropriate.

Prepare, transmit, and maintain appropriate electronic documentation using various system tools and software (e.g., G-Suite, E-File, Serv-u).

Provide in-services to Board personnel with regards to behaviour management issues (e.g., BMS) and topics related to social-emotional learning and strategies that promote mental wellbeing, as required.

Commitment to maintain updated and valid Practitioner certificate in an approved Crisis Intervention Training Program: Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (e.g., Behaviour Management Systems with Containment-trained, UMAB, CPI).

Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Qualifications and Experience: Advanced 3-year College Diploma Child and Youth Worker

4 5 years academic or clinical experience with children across the range of exceptionalities and providing coaching and developing behaviour plans.
