Located in the picturesque hamlet of Baker Lake, Racheal Arngnammaktiq Elementary School serves the community of Baker Lake. The school has a population of approximately 270 students in a K-5 setting with a staff of 28. The school and community are steeped in a rich history of Inuit culture.[b]Required qualifications:[/b]

Bachelor of Education degree

Teaching or principal certification acceptable for Nunavut certification

Minimum of 3 years school leadership experience [[b]Desired qualifications:[/b]

Graduate training in education

Evidence in leading effective teaching practice in the area of literacy

Experience in the development and promotion of professional learning communities

Experience in leading staff formative assessment protocols

Experience in using data analysis to support student learning

Successful northern/cross-cultural teaching experience

Computer knowledge and experience with administrative software

Experience in dealing with site-based management of school finances

Evidence of support and enhancement of bilingual school programming

Evidence/experience building positive relationships with students, colleagues, parents, stakeholders

Please note: [b]Government housing may be provided and sharing may be required.[/b]Salary and Nunavut Northern Allowance: The salary for certified applicants ranges from $83,643 prorated/annum to $131,151 prorated/annum.
