Job Summary: Under the direction of the Supervisor Mechanical Electrical Systems, the HVAC Technician is responsible for the installation, operation, maintenance and repair of HVAC systems including mechanical and electro- mechanical equipment in accordance with board policies and procedures, relevant regulations, codes and best practices in a safe and effective manner. Skills & Qualifications: Secondary School Graduation Diploma.
Valid G1 Gas License, preference given to multi-license; will consider G2 Gas license for applicants working towards a G1 Gas License
Minimum 5 years and 5000 hours of previous related and/or on the job experience, particularly related to air handling units and roof top unit troubleshooting and repairs
Effective interpersonal skills
Proven ability to work both independently and co-operatively as a member of an interdepartmental team
Proven time management, scheduling and organizational skills
313A/313D Refrigeration/Air Conditioning license is an asset
Ability to prepare documentation for standard maintenance practices
Ability to share knowledge with colleagues for awareness building and knowledge cross-pollination
Ability to troubleshoot equipment and processes for failure finding and restoring services
Advises the Facilities Services management team of opportunities for continuous improvement
Must be comfortable using technology the position is required to use technology including the Boards Work Management System (eBASE) with mobile technology
Standard First Aid Certification, CPR certification.
