Salary: $76,130 to $80,637 annually (compensation also includes a comprehensive benefits package (including extended health and dental, life insurance, health care spending account), participation in the OMERS pension plan, competitive vacation and sick leave)

RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs duties including planning, implementing and monitoring evidence based mental health programs and services in collaboration with the in-school team to support the emotional/mental health needs of students. This position supports elementary schools and Education and Community Partnership Programs (ECPP). While in the school, the Social Services Worker is subject to the administrative leadership of the Principal.
QUALIFICATIONS: Two-year college Social Services Worker Diploma and registration in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Services Workers. Minimum of one to two years related experience. Familiarity with mental health promotion, prevention and intervention services within a tiered system. Experience implementing evidence based therapeutic mental health programs to address the social-emotional needs of children and youth. Knowledge and training in ASIST or other suicide intervention strategies, and crisis intervention support. Comfort with the facilitation of referrals and support to students and their families accessing community programs and services. Experience working within a multidisciplinary team environment, preferred.
