Creating Futures, Leading and Learning for All We are currently accepting applications for TR Leger Settlement Outreach Worker . Under the direction of the TR Leger Manager of Literacy and Language Services, the Settlement/Outreach Worker is responsible for the outreach and recruitment of clients and the provision of settlement information to newcomer and immigrant individuals, families and throughout the community. In consultation with the Team Leader of Immigrant Services, the Settlement Worker plans and delivers activities and workshops both at the centre and other sites throughout the UCDSB catchment area in accordance with the guidelines under IRCC (Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada). The Settlement Worker orients, assists and advocates for and with newcomer/immigrant individuals and families in meeting their settlement needs.

Qualifications and Experience:

Three-year college diploma in social work, psychology or a related field.

A minimum of one-year experience with newcomers to Canada is required.

Knowledge of community agencies and supports (e.g. Ontario Works, Employment centres), IRCC Settlement regulations and community and provincial demographics is an asset.

Related employment or volunteer experience in social work or immigration services is an asset.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Oral and written fluency in English is required.
