the Brooks Composite High School is hiring! We are seeking a uniquely qualified teacher to join our team as a high school CTS Construction Teacher. CTS teachers have a profound role in the development and well-being, of our students and community. They spark interest and confidence while developing practical skills, that will follow these young adults far past their grade school years. CTS curriculum is an investment in the future of our economy and community, securing interests in trades as professions, hobbies, and practical knowledge for self-sufficiency. This role requires a Bachelor of Education and a Journeyperson certificate and must hold a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate at the time of hire. About the program: The CTS program is designed to develop skills that senior high school students can apply in their daily lives when preparing for entry into the workplace or for further learning opportunities. Through the CTS program students are provided with opportunities to personalize their learning , identify and explore their interests , manage transitions between high school and the workplace or post-secondary , and develop the attitudes and behaviors that people need to participate and progress in todays dynamic world of work. Job Duties: identify students individual and collective learning needs;

plan and deliver instruction based on student learning needs and special needs;

provide a stimulating learning environment in which each student can experience growth and develop to his or her potential;

help students learn appropriate knowledge, skills;

meet with parents;

evaluate and communicate student progress;

prepare and implement remedial programs for students requiring extra help;

meet with other professionals to discuss individual student needs and progress;

volunteer to supervise extracurricular and after-school activities; and
