Position:Team Lead- Student Information Systems

Salary Range: Band 4 - 63,437.00 - 75,647.00

Position Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the SIS Supervisor, the Team Lead - Student Information Systems position is responsible for providing subject matter expertise to the SIS analysts to support their day to day operations, and acts as a point of escalation for problem analysis and resolution. This position collaborates with Board staff to ensure the functionality and management of data aligns with the school based operations and workflow. In addition, this position is also responsible for the coordination of user acceptance testing, impact analysis, and related change management processes associated with software upgrades, project based initiatives, and external reporting. The HDSB recently introduced a Work from Home Administrative Procedure. In accordance with this Administrative Procedure and with the approval of the immediate supervisor, employees who work at HDSB administrative sites may work from home for up to 50% of their regularly scheduled hours. The HDSB offers funding for professional development in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of Employment for management and administration support staff.

Key Responsibilities Acts as the operational lead for SIS Analysts to optimize delivery of customer service and establish consistency in school business practices

Monitors SIS support according to service level agreements

Provide initial and ongoing advanced training to SIS Analysts

Coordination of all applications and interfaces with the Student Information System product suite, as well as related parent tools for home notification and reporting of student attendance at a system level to maintain functionality and data integrity

Responsible for business analysis to document requirements where new in-house reports are requested, works with development team and oversees testing

Coordinate the business analysis and quality assurance testing of all applications and interfaces within the Student Information System product suite, as well as related parent tools for home notification and reporting of student attendance associated with software upgrades/released to maintain Ministry compliance, support system operations and implement new functionality

Schedules and coordinates testing for new software releases/upgrades

Assists stakeholders in identifying and documenting requirements where enhancements or new functionality is required to support workflow and data gathering for central processes

Coordinates and carries out change management processes for third party reporting to align external agency requirements and delivery of data

Leads pilot projects with external agencies to determine feasibility for use within HDSB to gain operational efficiencies

Administers and provides specialized support and guidance for central board staff to influence organizational operations

Provides functional and operational support to system users including System Principals, Programs Leads, Administrators, and Support Staff, in the form of problem analysis and resolution for inquiries related to Student Information System application suite and interfacesMinimum Qualifications: College Diploma in information technology or related field

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
