Position:Temporary Analyst - Software Development Solutions

Salary Range: $ 34.86- $ 41.56 an hour Band 4

Location:Information Technology, J.W. Singleton Education Centre

Work Schedule:35 hours/week, 12 months/year

Effective Date:As Soon As Possible- January 3, 2025

Position Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the Manager, Information Technology-Data Management & Development, the Software Development Solutions Analyst is responsible for the programming to support the integration and flow of information between corporate systems i.e. Student information, HR, Payroll, Finance, etc. This position is responsible for writing the code to create data feeds/extracts, customized reports, specialized information and the creation of processes to assist in the maintenance of data validation and data integrity. This position works in collaboration with the Senior Analysts - ERP Solutions and the Senior Analyst - Software Development Solutions in order to ensure the information and technical solutions support HDSB stakeholder requirements and meet the development standards for privacy compliance, data quality and usability.The HDSB recently introduced a Work from Home Administrative Procedure. In accordance with this Administrative Procedure and with the approval of the immediate supervisor, employees who work at HDSB administrative sites may work from home for up to 50% of their regularly scheduled hours. Work from Home arrangements may change based on the future needs of the Board. The HDSB offers funding for professional development in accordance with the Terms and Conditions of Employment for management and administration support staff.

Key Responsibilities: Develop data integrations to support transmission of data to internal and external sources to align with the needs of the organization.

Create customized reports and data extracts to support board operations and evidence informed decision making.

Develop data validation and data integrity solutions to support HDSB data management practices and compliance.

Perform activities to support change management processes and alignment to operational standards.

Provide customer service, support and training to support functional leads and operations.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements: College diploma in Computer Programming or related discipline.

5 years of prior related work experience.Preferred Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Computer Programming or a related field.

5 years of prior related work experience in a school board environment.Additional Requirements: Microsoft SQL Server Data Tools - Reporting Services, Integration Services

Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to meet timelines and maintain confidentiality.

Excellent customer service skills and proven strong working relationships across multiple functional areas.
