$121,746 - $145,250 per annum Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Superintendent, Special Education Services, the Senior Manager, Social Work will assist in the hiring, deployment and daily supervision of Social Workers; assist in the development and follow through of Identification, Placement and Review Committee (IPRC) outcomes; provide case clinical supervision to Social Workers; develop and conduct in-service programs, workshops and presentations; assume responsibility of System Attendance Counsellor as defined by the Education Act for the Province of Ontario, and be responsible for both elementary and secondary school services; will support and facilitate the development and implementation of the mental health and addictions strategy for the Board, utilizing a multi-tiered approach to intervention and services.

The Senior Manager, Social Work, will work in collaboration to ensure that all mental health programs delivered in our schools are evidenced based or evidenced-informed, reflective of the Tiered Model of Intervention, and are in compliance with the Board's Mental Health and Addictions Strategy.

Qualifications / Experience Qualified applicants must have a Masters Degree in Social Work, Psychology or Psychological Associate and be a member in good standing with the appropriate professional college is required.

Minimum of five (5) years of related experience. Experience working in a school board or related environment is an asset.

Managerial/Supervisory/Administrative experience.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal.

Knowledge of School Board Systems.

Strong knowledge and proven experience with Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives.

Proven ability to address student attendance, experiences in working with pervasive developmental disorders, behavioural and other exceptionalities.

Experience working in a childrens mental health setting would be an asset.

An understanding of assessment and evaluation procedures.

Working knowledge and understanding of the Tiered Model of intervention would be an asset.

Expert knowledge in evidence based universal prevention and intervention programs/services with a focus on mental health.

Strong knowledge and expertise in supporting Student and Mental Health and Addictions.

Experience in providing clinical services to children, adolescents and families.

Experience in providing training/facilitating adult education and professional learning.

Strong evidence of having collaborative skills in partnering with community agencies.
