About Us?STEM Innovation Academy is a public charter school in Calgary that opened in September 2021. Our junior high school currently serves over 470 students in grades 7-9. In September 2022, our high school campus opened a NW location located in the University Innovation Quarter with 115 Grade 10s; we have since grown and project 700 students in 2024-25 with a full-grown capacity of 1000 students. Position Information

High School English Language Arts Teacher Education and Experience Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate

Bachelor of Education Degree or equivalent recognized by Alberta Education

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies Exemplary, evidence-based instructional practices in high school English that lead to student success.

Experience, confidence, skill, knowledge, and understanding of Alberta Program of Studies and scoring criteria for provincial assessments.

Commitment to academic rigour and excellence.

Capacity to differentiate instructional practices, use effective student engagement strategies, and employ outcome-based assessment and reporting.

Collaboration with staff team in developing innovative learning experiences for students.

Strong ability to build and maintain trusting relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.

Innovators mindset - willingness to take risks and adapt to new challenges and interest in acquiring the skill sets required to teach various STEM complementary courses.

Basic understanding of design & engineering, digital media technologies, and/or computational thinking?is an asset.

Willingness to adapt and grow in a constantly evolving environment.
