We are looking for educators who are enthusiastic collaborators and risk-takers to work with a team of educators in a fast-paced interdisciplinary learning environment.
Candidates should have a sound knowledge of adolescent development and an inclusive approach to teaching as they are navigating the social-emotional needs of middle-school students. The candidate should be prepared to teach all core subject areas in the Alberta Program of Studies.
Candidates are required to possess the following: A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate (interim or permanent)
A Bachelor of Education degree from an Alberta-recognized institution
A recent Police Information Check (PIC) with vulnerable sector check through Calgary Police Services
Knowledge of the Years 4-9 curricula
References from recent employers or supervisors in educational settingsPreference will be given to candidates who have the following qualities: Experience in and passion for the Arts (visual, music, drama, dance, creative writing, or other)
A passion for collaboration, creativity, and progressive practices
A supportive and caring manner with youth
Ability to be flexible while meeting the needs of all students
Commitment to taking positive risks
Openness to participating in ongoing professional development
Ability to work in a team with a variety of engaged stakeholders
Willingness to contribute to school culture through participation in performance events, athletics, and other extracurricular activities
