Reports to the Principal and works under the direction of the Teaching Chef to provide kitchen assistance for food

preparation and sales; cleanup of work area and equipment. Maintains food safety.QUALIFICATIONS: Completion of Grade 10 education or equivalent. Minimum of 1 year recent experience working in an institutional or vocational kitchen or equivalent combination of education and experience. Completion of a food safe course. Knowledge and ability to handle safely a wide variety of industrial kitchen machinery and equipment. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to use judgement and tact when providing information. Ability to meet time deadlines and set standards. Physically capable of performing the duties of the position. Previous experience working with teenagers is an asset. Knowledge of WorkSafe BC, WHMIS and Savolite regulations. Safe work practices. Some positions may require the knowledge of a language other than English.
