FULL TIME SECONDARY NUMERACY COACH for the 2024-2025 school year (SAT)

Keewatin-Patricia District School Board (KPDSB) is situated in beautiful Northwestern Ontario. KPDSB serves the educational needs of approximately 5,000 students within 17 elementary and 6 secondary schools in the communities of Kenora, Sioux Narrows, Vermilion Bay, Ear Falls, Red Lake, Dryden, Sioux Lookout, Ignace, Pickle Lake, Savant Lake, and Upsala. Project Objectives To increase student learning and achievement in mathematics

To implement a range of high impact instructional practices and assessment practices in schools designed to identify and meet the needs of diverse learnersQualifications, Skills, and Experience OCT with Intermediate/Senior Mathematics qualifications

Demonstrated knowledge of high impact teaching strategies

Data literacy

Leadership skills demonstrated at the school and system levels

Excellent organization, interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and consultation skills

Experience planning and delivering professional development sessions

Experience networking with external partnersDuties/Responsibilities Facilitate professional learning for teachers, Grades 7-12, focused on improving student learning of mathematics and student achievement

Provide training/support for teachers and schools to implement and understand and plan next steps for numeracy programs, including STAR, math assessment, Knowledgehook, and Freckle

Work as a member of the central team to support the implementation of culturally relevant pedagogy and culturally responsive, equitable, and inclusive learning environments

Plan and work alongside teachers in their classrooms, as well as model and/or demonstrate effective instructional and assessment strategies

Participate in PLCs with numeracy teachers and learning/lesson labs and bring the importance of data and effective instructional practices to these tables

Support secondary schools with their Numeracy Plans, and building of programs focused on numeracy development (e.g. GLS1O, MAT1L/2L)

Support secondary school educators with the preparation required to ensure student readiness for EQAO Gr. 9 Mathematics Assessment

Travel within the region regularly
