Yellowhead Koinonia Christian School (YKCS)

Is seeking a

Substitute Teachers Yellowhead Koinonia Christian School (YKCS) is seeking substitute teachers for the 2021-2022 school year. The position could include teaching students at the Kindergarten- Grade 12 level.

We are located in Edson, Alberta. Edson is located 200 km west of Edmonton and an hour from the beautiful Rocky Mountains. YKCS is committed to cultivating the faith of students so that they will be able to live in the fullness of life before God according to His will for them.

We are an independent Evangelical Christian school that serves Edson and the surrounding community by offering an accredited Alberta education that is distinctively Christian. YKCS has existed for over 30 years being owned and governed by the not-for-profit Yellowhead Koinonia Christian School Society. In June of 1997 it became a part of Koinonia Christian Schools, and now is an associate member of this organization. YKCS is also a member of the Association of Independent Schools and Colleges of Alberta (AISCA) and Association of Christian School International (ACSI).

Qualifications

Agrees to and adheres to the Koinonia Statement of Faith (www.koinoniaschools.com/statement-of-faith.html) without reservation.

Have a Bachelor of Education degree

Hold (or be eligible for) a valid Alberta teaching certificate

and have a passion for Christian Education

Prior Christian school experience, Bible College education, ACSI certification, and successful experience in teaching or other youth work are also valuable. Preference given to an individual with a strong Christian background. To apply for this position, applicants must be Canadian citizens or be currently eligible to work and teach in Canada.
