Employment Opportunity Full Time Kindergarten/Grade 1 Teacher

Yellowhead Koinonia Christian SchoolYellowhead Koinonia Christian School (YKCS) is seeking an innovative, creative and dynamic Full Time Kindergarten/Grade 1 Teacher to start on November 1st and continue till the end of the school year with the possibility of extending for future years. Must love God, love helping kids learn about God and about academics. A maximum of 12 students, including 2 diverse students with the support of a Full-Time Educational Assistant.

YKCS is committed to cultivating the faith of students so that they will be able to live in the fullness of life before God according to His will for them. We are in Edson, Alberta. Edson is located 200 km west of Edmonton and an hour from the beautiful Rocky Mountains with many activities and pursuits.

The ability to make Biblical values an integral part of school life and integrate them into subject matter.

Clearly defined and well thought out assessment beliefs.

Prepared to work collaboratively with other teachers and support staff as a member of a professional learning community.

Have strong, positive interpersonal skills.

Teach students using lessons, discussions, audio-visual presentations, and field trips.

Design effective strategies to meet the childrens diverse learning needs.

Effective communication skills.Qualifications: Have a Bachelor of Education degree

Hold (or be eligible for) a valid Alberta teaching certificate

Have a passion for Christian Education

Bible College education or successful experience in youth work is valuable.
