EIPS is recruiting a part-time Counsellor at Fort Saskatchewan Elementary.

Fort Saskatchewan Elementary serves approximately 310 students in kindergarten to grade 6, with 17 teaching staff and 10 support staff. The school is located in Fort Saskatchewan, AB, approximately 20 kilometres north of Sherwood Park, AB.

Open to internal and external applicants

A master's degree in counselling and registered or provisional psychologist status is preferred. Consideration will be given to applicants presently working on a master's in this area. A m inimum of five years of teaching experience, education in psychology or a related discipline with a focus on counselling, and Violent Threat Risk Assessment Training (VTRA) would be considered an asset.

Qualifications: Bachelor of Education degree

Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate

Masters in School Counselling or Psychology would be considered an asset; or working towards

Strong understanding of child and adolescent development, particularly the impact of trauma on learning and behaviour Effective organization and classroom management skills

Ability to create a classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, and challenged

Excellent verbal and written skills

Experience or familiarity with analyzing data and using data to inform decisions and/or instruction

Strong collaboration and teamwork skills

Growth mindset and ability to use feedback to improve practice

Relentless drive to set and achieve personal and professional goals
