About Hillfield Strathallan College

Hillfield Strathallan College is currently recruiting for a French teacher in our Senior School (Gr.9 Gr. 12) for an LTO beginning immediately until the end of June 2024. The successful candidate will teach one section of FSF1D , FSF3U and FSF2DT (enriched level French).

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Principal of the Senior School, the experienced educator will prepare and implement a French program for students. They will employ classroom management practices, including establishing and enforcing student expectations for creating a supportive, safe, collaborative, caring, and effective learning environment, and they will participate in the co-curricular program as directed by the Principal.The successful candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience teaching French at the Senior School level; possess an Ontario Teaching Certificate or equivalency, strong communication and interpersonal skills and a passion for education. They should also possess up-to-date skills in the area of technology and embrace a model of student-centred learning.

Bachelors degree in education;

Ontario Teachers Certificate (OCT or equivalent) - qualifications in intermediate/senior division;

Strong understanding of Growing Success;

Strong communication skills in French;

Experience in CEFR and DELF training, as well as in-practice and pedagogy, is an asset but not required.
