Description:
Under the direction of the Chief Information Officer this position is responsible for network and security administration to support all ICT infrastructure. This incumbent participates in and leads technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Administration SD-WAN Management of over 60 sites with redundant internet feeds
Management of onsite Fortinet SD-WAN Firewalls and Zscaler GRE tunnels
Enterprise Wi-Fi network administration, providing optimal coverage and access
Network Design and Implementation. Managing network routing, vlans, quality of service and segmenting networks with security policies.
Oversees entire corporate network to identify and resolve network performance issues
Responsible for distribution layer routing/switching at all sites which includes initial configuration, security, troubleshooting and maintenance
Perform systems and network analysis to provide recommendations for technology implementation and capacity planning.
Design and test network and system configurations necessary for new applications, new technology or enhanced performance.
Gather statistical data and analyze to provide recommendations for future network technology implementations
Manage vendor relationships including working with vendors to provide creative, adaptive, secure and tested solutions
System Security management Management of onsite Fortinet SD-WAN Firewalls and Zscaler SASE cloud security policies
Develop, implement and maintain information security processes
Analysis, design and implementation of security procedures
Maintain security procedures to ensure data integrity
Troubleshoot and monitor network performance utilizing network tools such as vulnerability scanners, penetration testers, Intrusion detection, security management and log analysis
Participate in the research, scheduling and managing system updates
Provide investigative reports as requested in relation to internet and network usage by staff and students
Enterprise firewall administration including installation, configuration and maintenance
Continuity management Contributes to the development of continuity management plans.
Identifies information and communication systems that support critical business processes.
Coordinates the business impact analysis and the assessment of risks.
Coordinates the planning, designing, and testing of contingency plans
Additional Requirements
Qualifications:
4-year Computer Science Degree or 3-year Computer Science Diploma/equivalent. 2-5 years demonstrable experience in network and security administration
Project management skills
Proven interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Maturity in dealing with confidential information
Must have own reliable transportation (This position must travel to an offsite data center on a regular basis and be willing to transport equipment to this site in their personal vehicle -equipment to be no larger than what fits in a typical vehicle trunk).
May require responding to urgent matters outside of the normal work hours. As well, may require scheduling work outside of normal work hours.Valued Certifications: Certified Information Systems Security Professional
