Description:

As such HWCDSB Pastoral Services offers an Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP). EFAP is a confidential program which offers HWCDSB employees and their immediate family members short-term professional counselling and support services related to a wide variety of personal difficulties or wellness concerns.

The Employee and Family Assistance Counsellor is responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive confidential Employee and Family Assistance Program that is consistent with the Boards Catholic mission and values. As a regulated health care professional, the EFAP Counsellor provides assessment, treatment, consultation and referral services to employees and their immediate family members. At a system level, the EFAP Counsellor designs and conducts system training, responds to critical incidents, and provides input to senior administration regarding employee wellness initiatives and system training needs. This role works closely with the System Adult Faith Animator, the Respectful Workplace Advisor, the Systems Equity Officer, Disability Management and the Workplace Development Coordinator.Educational Qualifications: Masters degree in one of the following areas: Social Work, Counselling Psychology or Pastoral Counselling with at least 7 years relevant field experience in providing evidence-based assessment, treatment, consultation and referral services;

Member in good standing of a Regulated Healthcare Professionals College (i.e. OCSWSSW)

Experience: Certification in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Brief Solution Focused Therapy (BSFT) or Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT);

Post Masters clinical expertise and ability to deal with a wide variety of issues such as stress, anxiety, anger management, depression, family issues, relationship difficulties, substance abuse, elder care, grief counselling, life changes and transitions;

Demonstrated knowledge in application of screening and assessment tools;

Demonstrated ability to provide clinical services in an in-person or virtual environment;

Additional experience within a unionized environment in the Catholic education sector;

Maintains current and comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation, including: Ontario Human Rights Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulated Healthcare Professionals Act, Mental Health Act, Child Youth and Family Services Act, and Personal Health Information Protection Act;

Demonstrates strong client service orientation and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, external stakeholders and service providers;

Demonstrates ability to create and manage a high volume of professional clinical records adhering to provincial and federal legislation and Regulated Healthcare Professionals Act;

Ability to work flexible hours;

Ability to work in a collaborative team setting with excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills including delivering workshops for groups of people and proficiency in MS Office software applications;

Leadership experience and a high level of personal and professional integrity;

Valid Drivers Licence and vehicle;

Exemplifies ethical leadership and witness to Catholic values.Location:

($99,659 - $124,435.00)
