Adult ESL - Permanent - Night School Instructor- CLB 3

The Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board is recruiting an Adult ESL instructor to teach in a continuing education non-credit ESL and/or LINC class at our City Centre site.Summary:

Reporting to the ESL/LINC Program Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible to instruct English as a Second Language to adult CLB 3 learners. A candidate is needed on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5:23 to 8:30 pm.

Base Wage: $36.90 or according to the OSSTF-ESL Collective Agreement.Qualifications: Current TESL Ontario Certification (OCELT) is required.

Completion of CLB Bootcamp and Introduction to PBLA from the Centre for Canadian Language Benchmarks (recommended within 6 months of hire into casual pool and required for hire into a permanent day or night position)

Knowledge and experience with the Canadian Language Benchmarks

Knowledge and /or application of Portfolio Based Language Assessment (PBLA)

Exceptional interpersonal skills to work effectively with teaching colleagues, administrative staff, and the management team

Excellent practice and knowledge in the principles of adult learning

Demonstrated experience using Learning Management Systems

Demonstrated experience using technology as a teaching and learning tool

Excellent communication and cross-cultural skills To apply:
