Teacher for EW Pratt School / Prairie View Outreach

for the 2024-2025 School Year

This is a full-time position for the school year with the potential for continuation teaching high school mathematics and science. The actual assignment may be adjusted to reflect the specific skills of the successful candidate.

EW Pratt High and Prairie View Outreach schools are located in the Town of High Prairie, which is at the junction of Highway 2 and Highway 749, within Big Lakes County. High Prairie is approximately 371 kilometres northwest of Edmonton and 118 kilometres west of Slave Lake.

Students are offered an academic program with access to an extensive list of options as well as a wide variety of extra curricular activities to encourage involvement in our schools. Our schools serve students from eight communities in the surrounding region. Staff take pride in fostering a cohesive community among our students and parents/guardians.

High Prairie School Division provides many professional development opportunities both at the school and division level. The goal is to provide employees with many opportunities to support growth and advancement in their professional practice.

Requirements: Candidates must have completed a Bachelor of Education Degree

Must have (or be eligible to obtain) an Alberta Teaching Certificate or proof of application from Alberta Education Teacher Certification.

TQS or proof of application from the Alberta Teachers Association.

Successful candidates must produce an ORIGINAL, acceptable, recent (less than six months old) Criminal Records Check which must include Vulnerable Sector Check.This position will remain open until a suitable candidate is found.
