Under the supervision of the Director of Instruction - Settlement Services and International Education (SSIE), you will be responsible for providing leadership, support, development and supervision of settlement services provided to newcomers in the Central Okanagan School District. The above-referenced position will be effective asap.

Major responsibilities will include: Supporting the Director of Instruction (SSIE) to develop and implement service programs that meet the Immigration Refugees Cananda Citizenship (IRCC) requirements; supports and oversee program delivery targets and other special programs such as (i.e. Summer Program, Adult Language Program, etc);

Supporting the Director of Instruction (SSIE) in working with other settlement and community agencies;

Supporting the collection and maintenance of data, generating statistics for both external and internal planning and reporting purposes;

Supporting the Director of Instruction (SSIE) leading the District Leadership and Settlement Services team to ensure current updates on governmental changes and regulations, and how these changes align with the district strategic plan;

Working in collaboration with the Director of Instruction (SSIE) and other education departments to provide learning services that support educational outcomes and smooth settlement transition.

The successful candidate must: Have received a bachelor's degree from a recognized university in a related field;

Thorough knowledge of Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA), Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR), Citizenship Act and Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) regulations;

Experience with student information systems and/or federal partner portal programs;

Display strong interpersonal skills and highly effective communication skills;

Possess highly developed knowledge and skills to lead teams and develop programs specifically designed to support needs and successful settlement and integration of newcomer families in our schools and community.
