KCDSB invites applications for a 1.0 FTE Permanent Information Technology (IT) Helpdesk Technician at the Catholic Education Centre located in Kenora, ON to commence employment as soon as possible.

Under the direct supervision of the Manager of Information Technology Services and will work closely with the Information Technology (IT) Technician Lead to perform the day-to-day operations on the Boards Information Technology Systems. This is a hands-on technical role responsible for performing IT support for a wide variety of software and hardware technology solutions used in individual schools while providing technical support to internal staff. Provide primary technical assistance on the helpdesk to support technical issues across all departments. The IT Helpdesk Technician will work closely with the IT Technician Lead on key projects across various platforms.

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES: Maintaining Board IT assets such as Chromebooks, Windows devices, mobile device management and underlying infrastructure

Must be able to display positive attitudes and behaviours, which demonstrate an awareness and willingness to respond to internal customers meeting their needs, requirements, and expectations

Remains current and ensures the department follows the Ministry of Education guidelines, Board policies and procedures

Maintain and monitor IT systems to ensure continuity of services

Monitor and investigate critical incidents that have been brought to the School Boards attention

Perform technical diagnostics and preventative maintenance on school board devices including specialized equipment

Creates and maintains information technology documentation, contingency, and disaster recovery plans

Acts as a resource person to Board committees, school committees, school councils and staff in computer information technology matters

QUALIFICATIONS: College diploma in an IT related discipline

A minimum of 2 years IT work experience

Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered Critical thinker with good troubleshooting, diagnostic and problem-resolution skills

Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as an individual contributor as well as part of a team and with other relevant stakeholders at all levels of the organization

Ability to identify and manage changing priorities, to mitigate potential risks and query large data sets

Proficiency in providing and measuring exceptional Customer Service experience and maintaining professional working relationships with peers and external vendors

Industry standard certifications in an IT related discipline would be considered

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as it pertains to supporting end users with a varying degree of computer experience

Ability to develop priorities and sound documentation to support work within the scope of position

Passion for learning and implementing innovative solutions

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work under pressure

Knowledge of the following considered an asset: Microsoft 365

Salary Range: $52,000-$74,000 per annum 4 weeks starting vacation
