Kingston, ON Plant East Operations 1.0 FTE
Permanent Full Time Position
Effective immediately.
8 hours/day
5 days/week
Reporting to the Manager of Plant Operations, the Plumber installs, repairs, and maintains piping systems, fixtures and other plumbing equipment used for water distribution, drainage, and waste disposal. They will Install, clean, inspect, maintain and repair heating systems. The Plumber will follow all applicable codes and regulations pertaining to plumbing, gas fired equipment and building codes.
Qualifications: Valid Registered Training Agreement, Provisional Certificate of Qualification or Certificate of Qualification and record must appear on the Skilled Trades Ontario Public Register;
OWWA Certified cross connection control specialist qualification;
Three years experience plumbing in an institutional setting;
School board facility experience will be considered an asset;
Excellent knowledge of codes and regulations pertaining to plumbing, building and occupational health and safety;
Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as a part of a team; Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills;
Must possess a valid drivers license in order to travel and provide service throughout the district. This position includes continual walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, and heavy lifting/ carrying. Frequent work within confined spaces, awkward spaces, crawl holes, locations with hazardous substances and in uncomfortable positions around gas lines, fumes and toxic chemicals, outside and inside. Exposure to extreme temperatures. Frequent district wide travel.
