A2425-04 Assistant Principal - J. A. Williams High School

This is a full-time position commencing with the start of the 2024-2025 school year . J. A. Williams School is located in the Town of Lac La Biche with approximately 430 students in grades 9-12. Our mission is to engage the entire school community in learning through focus, reflection and collaboration. The division is seeking a dedicated and caring leader who will support the Principal to create a welcoming learning environment where all students learn and excel.

Reporting directly to the Principal, the successful candidate will: Ensure effective educational programming and school activities for students

Develop and nurture a positive, supportive and inclusive school culture

Assist the Principal to provide effective instructional leadership to school staff

Work collaboratively with division office staff, the school admin team and staff, students and the School Council to achieve the goals of the school and the division

Assist the Principal effectively manage school operations and resources

Nurture strong relationships with students, staff, parents and the school community

Teach courses that may be assigned by the Principal The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications: Possess a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate

Proven excellence as a classroom teacher and commitment to student success

Possess or be eligible to achieve the Alberta Leadership Quality Standards Certificate

Previous school administration experience is an asset

The ability to work effectively with diverse student and parent groups

Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills

Commitment to lifelong learning and professional improvement
