S2324-101 School Administrative Assistant Aurora Middle School

We are seeking a part-time (0.80 fte) School Administrative Assistant to commence as soon as possible. The main responsibilities of this position are to act as a liaison and provide clerical and administrative support to administration, staff, parents, students, and members of the public. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited attendance calls, all things social media, school news video, good news posts and NLPS school cash on-line. The successful applicant must be a self-starter and be able to work independently in a fast paced environment.

Aurora Middle School is located in the Town of Lac La Biche with approximately 325 students in grades 4 to 8. Our school prides itself on being a caring, respectful, and safe school.

Qualifications and skills include: Education and/or previous experience as a school administrative assistant

Expert knowledge and understanding of student and school policies

Submitting and maintaining records in regards to registration of classes for teachers and students

Inputting, maintaining and retrieving data such as absentees, attendance, student records, demographics, and school accounts

Confidence in tracking and managing electronic funds

Creating reports, bank reconciliation and managing accounts

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Commitment to confidentiality, accuracy and the ability to set and meet deadlines

Ability to be a strong contributing member of the school that is comfortable and enjoys working with students in a position and creative manner

Google Applications, Microsoft Office, School Cash Online, School Generated Funds

Familiarity with PowerSchool/PASI/Atrieve ERP or similar Database

Experience with school-related clerical duties, electronic filing systems and student information systems
