The division is focused on ensuring all students have the opportunity to succeed and has designated numeracy and student mental health and wellness as division priorities. Northern Lights Public Schools invites applications for the following position:

S2425-35 Educational Assistant - Alberta Provincial Campus Based Care Centre (PCBCC)

This is a full-time (1.0 fte) position commencing November 1, 2024, and for the remainder of the 2024-2025 school year. This assignment involves assisting with student educational program needs in a flexible, positive supportive and inclusive classroom environment. This position requires a compassionate and energetic individual to work in a team environment.

The Alberta Provincial Campus Based Care Centre (PCBCC) is located in the town of Lac La Biche with as many as 10 students, depending on intake, from Grades 7-12. The program and services integrate trauma-informed practices and best practice research in a way that supports all youth to reach their individual potential.

Preference will be give to those who have: Post-Secondary training and/or experience as an Educational Assistant

Knowledge and experience with behavioral strategies

Experience working one-on-one and/or in a classroom setting

Knowledge of documentation procedures and proficiency with computers

Familiarity with strategies to address different learning styles and experience with Individual Program Plans

Knowledge and experience in alternate communication strategiesTraining and skills that would be an asset include: Relative experience in educational assistance, nursing, and/or rehabilitation

SIVA and/or Non-Violent Crisis Intervention trainingHow to Apply:
