ACCOUNTING TECHNICIAN St. Basil Catholic Education Centre

We are looking to hire a temporary 35.0 hour per week Accounting Technician at St. Basil Catholic Education Centre. This assignment is to commence as soon as possible and terminate June 27, 2024, with the possibility of extension. This is an out of scope position. Reporting to the Senior Accountant and Secretary-Treasurer, the Accounting Technician is responsible for the accurate accounting and reporting of revenues for the School Division. The Accounting Technician will provide the accounts receivable function and assist the Senior Accountant with general ledger postings and budget accounting.

Qualifications and experience for this position include: Diploma in Accounting;

Bachelors Degree, major in accounting;

3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in an education setting;

Highly motivated team player, accustomed to working in a fast paced, results-driven environment;

Experience working in a paperless accounting environment is an asset.

Proficient with: Atrieve ERP accounting;

Thorough knowledge of accounting systems;

Extensive experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Google Workspace.

Interpersonal skills: Demonstrates ethical and confidential behaviour;

Demonstrates appropriate and independent use of time;
