The Trillium Lakelands District School Board invites applications for a

PERMANENT FULL-TIME COMPUTER TECHNICIAN

Located out of the

Lindsay Education Centre or the Haliburton Education Centre in Minden

This full-time, permanent position is available starting on November 25, 2024. The successful candidate will become part of a dynamic and responsive team that provides extraordinary support to Trillium Lakelands DSB in meeting its core priorities of excellence in student achievement and well-being. They will work as part of a team, learning from and sharing information and documentation with other team members. Additionally, they will support and travel to schools and facilities within their assigned area. The successful candidate will troubleshoot and resolve issues, upgrade hardware and software via remote assistance, onsite, or through other means. This includes special education equipment. They will also install peripherals such as printers, scanners, or interactive panels, as well as network components such as switches in a Windows or Windows Server - Active Directory networked environment.

Duties of the Position Include: Providing regular service desk functions, including taking service calls, troubleshooting, monitoring the solutions knowledge base and assisting others where appropriate.

Processing service desk requests; analyzing, evaluating, and investigating reported technical issues; prioritizing, assigning and routing requests; monitoring and tracking requests using the available service desk tools.

Analyzing, researching, implementing and recording solutions to technical problems.

Performing installation of new hardware, software and network solutions, and occasional testing of new hardware, documenting findings

Configuring, maintaining, upgrading, repairing and supporting existing technology;

Supporting hardware replacements, software upgrades, system re-configurations, and communicating with appropriate resources as required

Provide systems and network support including account maintenance, resource allocation, availability/performance monitoring and utilization monitoring;

Support special education software and equipment;

Maintain the highest standards of customer service; and

Perform other related duties as may be assigned.Qualifications Required: Two year College Diploma in a related Technology program;

Minimum 6 months of related technical experience;

Excellent oral, written, communication and public relations skills;

Proven ability to work as part of a team;

Ability to take direction and report progress with minimal supervision;

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

Working knowledge of M365/Windows 11;

Experience working in a networked environment;

Demonstrated hardware and software trouble-shooting skills;

Valid driver's license with use of own reliable vehicle. Assets: Microsoft Certifications in WINDOWS products such as the most recent version of Windows, Windows server or applications;

Knowledge and experience in MS SCCM and In Tune;

LAN / WAN/ Wireless technical support experience within a TCP/IP environment;

Knowledge and experience supporting Google Workspace for Education

Knowledge and experience supporting iOS and MacOS

Knowledge and experience working with and supporting Apple products through a device management system.Hours of Work: 35 hours/ week , Monday to Friday 12 months per year

Hourly Wage: $2 8 .01 p er hour (minimum) - $ 3 1 .90 per hour (maximum)

Point Band: 10 (unionized Position)
