Principal Crescent Heights High School

Position to begin August 27, 2024

An opportunity exists for a dynamic, caring, and dedicated leader in the role of Principal at Crescent Heights High School (CHHS). This educational leader will value and be able to demonstrate: a student-centered paradigm, with a strong focus on continual learning, improvement, and achievement,

a clear understanding of formative and outcomes-based assessment practices to improve student learning,

an understanding and application of Middle School and High School Redesign philosophy/practice,

true collaboration, contributing and receiving from both the leadership team and the school community as a whole.This individual must have a strong instructional leadership background with an understanding and ability to demonstrate the application of current and future educational practices. The successful candidate must be aligned with the values and vision of Crescent Heights High School and Medicine Hat Public School Division. Fluency in French and a commitment to extra-curricular activities would also be assets.

Crescent Heights High School has a population of about 1200 students in Grades 7-12 and is in the North area of the city. The CHHS learning community benefits from offering French Immersion and extensive Middle School options, academies and CTF programming, among many other student opportunities. CHHSs mission is Dedicated to Learning Committed to Community and is dedicated to preparing students for happy and successful lives as ethical citizens and engaged thinkers.

The incumbent Principal is to retire the end of December 2024 and will work with the incoming principal to support their transition to the role. A Masters Degree or currently enrolled in a Masters Program is required.
