Painters (Temporary) Ticketed and Non-ticketed This seasonal employment opportunity will begin Early Summer and wind down in September, with the possibility of continued employment. Your Work As a temporary painter, you will join a dedicated group of tradespeople committed to maintaining the integrity and functionality of our educational facilities. Your collaboration with fellow tradespeople will contribute to the seamless operation and upkeep of our schools, fostering an environment where everyone can thrive. responsible for painting in the construction and maintenance of buildings, grounds and ancillary equipment. Prepares, mixes, and applies paint, stain, varnish, etc., lacquer and applies fabric or wall cover relative to construction, renovation and maintenance of buildings, grounds, ancillary equipment, and furniture. Prepares surfaces for painting, varnishing, staining and lacquering or wall coverings/finishes from drawings, work sketches and specification Performs duties from scaffolds, ladders, and hydraulic lifts, ladders, operates spraying equipment, and installs, fills, tapes and finishes drywall. Wage (Ticketed) : $ 36.78 (effective July 1, 2024) Wage (Non-ticketed) : $33.87 (effective July 1, 2024) Your Education and Experience High school graduation or the equivalent Possess a valid Interprovincial Red Seal Painter/Decorator certification, plus 2 years related experience at Journeyperson Level (Ticketed) Demonstrated knowledge of methods and materials for commercial painting, plus minimum 5 years experience in commercial painting (non-ticketed) Physical capability to perform the job duties Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications Valid B.C.
