Process for selection:
A minimum of 3 qualified applicants will be offered an interview, including: At least three (3) teachers, who are currently employed as an occasional teacher with the OCDSB, who have the required OCT qualifications, and who best meet the criteria outlined in the job posting.
If fewer than three (3) qualified applicants apply, all applicants will be interviewed.
An OT who accepts an LTO assignment cannot apply to another LTO assignment that interferes with classes they are actively teaching. It is the expectation that a teacher who accepts an assignment must agree to complete the assignment as posted.
Teachers should apply only to the vacancies to which they will accept an interview.
The 2021-22 school year will consist of semesters. Teachers can teach a maximum of three (3) classes within a semester, which equals 100%. Part-time teachers may accept OT work within weeks where they are not otherwise employed so long as they have met the obligations of the absent contract teacher.
In-person schools are currently following a modified semester model. Students will receive 300 minutes of direct in-person instruction daily with a lunch break. There will be two in-person classes per day of 150 minutes each. Classes will rotate week over week throughout the first semester (i.e. block A & B during week one, block C & D during week two, then repeat). Classes are taught in person, from the school where the LTO is located.
OCV Secondary is currently following a modified semester model. There will be two classes per day of 150 minutes each. Classes will rotate week over week throughout the first semester (i.e. block A & B during week one, block C & D during week two, then repeat). Classes at OCV are taught from a location determined by the OCV admin team, from 9 am to 3:00 pm each day. Details will be arranged at the time of offer.IB Site Modified Schedule (Colonel By & Merivale): Students take 4 classes per month, with two classes being taught per week, on alternating weeks. There will be two in-person classes per day of 150 minutes each. Classes will rotate week over week throughout the month (i.e. block A & B during week 1, block C & D during week two, then repeat for alternating months).
