The Near North District School Board

requires a

1.0 Temporary Accounts Payable Clerk

Effective Immediately Location: North Bay Head Office

Duties and Responsibilities: Open, sort and distribute incoming accounts payable mail or courier as required

Match incoming invoices with authorized purchase order and proof of receipt

Process invoices for payment via input/import into accounts payable invoice entry programs coding source documents with purchase order numbers, vendor codes, Tax codes and invoice due dates ensuring compliance with Administrative Guidelines

Process expense and petty cash claims (validate claims by verifying receipts, compliance with Administrative Guidelines and Tax codes)

Process weekly for payment invoices, petty cash and expense claims from pay possibility to final cheque/EFT run

Matching of cheques/EFT with source documents for distribution to vendors and subsequent filing

Prepare journal entries as required for supervisors approval

Act as a liaison for addressing vendor/employee accounts payable-related queries as they relate to actual processing of payments and assist in resolving issues related to payments

Vendor statement reconciliation and follow-up

Qualifications: Minimum 1 2 year post-secondary diploma in Business, Accounting or related field

1-3 years experience working in an automated accounts payable and accounting environment

Skills Required: Ability to work efficiently in a deadline intensive, changing environment

Demonstrated experience and knowledge in computerized purchasing/accounting systems

Demonstrated understanding of accounting concepts

Proficiency with spreadsheets, word processing and database management

Good mathematical and analytical skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Excellent organizational skills

Strong interpersonal skills Rate of Pay: $26.13 - $28.84 per hour All applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada
