Effective Immediately until the return of the employee The Educational Assistant duties of this position are likely to include, but are not limited to, working with students with autism, behavioural exceptionalities, physical and developmental disabilities. The position will involve working as a team member in a special education program, delivering alternative program goals, therapy goals, sensory breaks, toileting support, communication needs, and outings.
Qualifications: Two-year post-secondary certificate or diploma in the social services field Knowledge/Skills Required: Strong Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous culture is required
Understanding of Anishinaabemowin would be an asset
Experience working with a variety of student exceptionalities including but not limited to: medically complex, autism, developmental disabilities and physical disabilities
Knowledge of behavioural prevention and management strategies
Proven ability to implement programs as directed by respective therapists and teachers
Proven ability work collaboratively as a member of a school based problem solving teamRate of Pay : $20.80 per hour plus 4% vacation pay and applicable statutory holiday pay Please ensure your have uploaded your applicable Educational Diploma(s) and/or Degree(s) to your Apply to Education Portfolio
