The Near North District School Board

invites applications for the: Summer Learning Program Coordinator Grades 1-6

July 2 - July 19, 2024 This position will be of particular interest to individuals interested in developing their leadership and administration skills within the Near North District School Board.

This leadership position includes the completion of required ministry and NNDSB multiple reporting requirements and assumes responsibility for the planning, organization, implementation, and evaluation of the NNDSB Summer Learning Program (SLP) for Primary and Junior students ensuring that it adheres to the policies and protocols of the NNDSB and aligns with the Districts Multi-Year Strategic Plan.?

Specific responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

managing all finances related to the SLP; approving weekly time sheets; supervising staff; supporting staff with parent communication and engagement; collaborating with Secondary Summer School Principal on the creation and submission of Summer Programs Report to NNDSB Board; and working with all NNDSB departments that support the delivery of the Summer Learning Program (e.g., Program, Finance, Human Resources, Plant and Communication departments).

The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to supervise in-school program learning and the ability to guide literacy and numeracy program content.

The successful candidate will possess the following: A Valid Ontario College of Teachers Certificate

A Valid Certificate of Registration from the Ontario College of Teachers

Demonstrated successful experience in teaching or leading Literacy and Numeracy programs

Ability to work within Board Administrative Guidelines

A Valid Drivers License and a reliable vehicle and willing to travel within the board

Exemplary monitoring and reporting skills. The following are considered an asset: PQP 1

Qualifications in 2 elementary divisions

Knowledge of Elementary programming

Knowledge of Elementary diagnostic tools in Literacy and Numeracy

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Excellent Organizations Skills

Working knowledge of LMS, Edsby

Understanding of Literacy, Numeracy core skills development
