salary range: $42,121 to $55,091Under the direction of the Human Resources Officer, the Human Resources Assistant provides administrative and confidential support to the HR Team in the Administrative and Support Staff Division.

The HR Assistant maintains various internal office routines; assists with the staffing and recruitment process for casual employment, including lunch time monitors, casual ECE's and Educational Assistants. You will so prepare and format HR related documents, including letters of offer, leaves, retirements, and other correspondence and forms. The HR Assistant maintains large amounts of data and several spreadsheets daily; performs data entry using the Integrated Personnel/Payroll System (IPPS); and serves as the frontline contact for HR inquiries from administrative and support employees of the District.

Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate holds a community college diploma in office administration and has 2 or 3 years of administrative experience, preferably in a Human Resources environment. Enrollment in a Human Resources Certificate Program is an asset.

Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in word-processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation software; knowledge of Google applications, including Google sheets, docs, calendaring is required.

Knowledge of the Integrated HR/Payroll System is an asset

Knowledge of human resources processes and administrative procedures.

General knowledge of Board policies and procedures, collective agreements and/or Employee Handbooks.

Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written), organization and time management, good judgement and customer service skills will round out the successful candidate.

Must have excellent attention to detail and accuracy

Must be able to work independently and with minimal supervision.Application
