Ashbury College is a leading not-for-profit independent day and boarding school for students in Grades 4 to 12 located in Canadas capital and the traditional, unceded territory of the Anishinbe Algonquin Nation. Based in central Ottawa, Ashbury College has an opening for an Art & Media Arts teacher, for Grades 9 - 12. We are seeking someone who has a history of teaching and co-curricular involvement throughout their academic career, provides a nurturing environment supportive of student creativity, and who brings genuine enthusiasm and energy to each class they teach. As the successful candidate, you have a history of thriving in a busy learning community, working collaboratively with colleagues, and leading co-curricular activities. You keep up-to-date on current learning theories, collaborative planning/teaching, and the use of technology in the curriculum by keeping actively involved in education and subject matter innovation beyond the walls of the classroom. This is demonstrated through your history of involvement in multiple approaches and mediums.Education, Experience and Qualifications:

Member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers

B.A., M.A. or M.Ed. in Fine Art or Art Education

Evidence of teaching that has been enhanced by technology

Versatility in artistic expression with a sample portfolio

Fluency in oral and written French is an asset

International Baccalaureate experience is an asset

This appointment, which covers a leave, is effective late August 2024 through June 30, 2025.
