Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) Officer - Term

Under the direction of the Coordinator of Operations, the HRIS Officer is responsible for all automated Human Resources functions. Specifically, the Officer develops and implements new approaches and procedures for automated data, prepares reports, provides support and training to staff and performs other duties, as assigned by the supervisor.

Key Job Accountabilities:

Develop, implement, and refine automated data processes and reporting

Analyze and optimize HR software applications and processes

Troubleshoot software issues and drive continuous improvement

Collaborate with stakeholders on information processing

Create and manage data reports using SQL and reporting tools

Statistical analysis and reporting

Ensure compliance with ministry guidelines

Collect, verify, and submit mandatory reports

Implement IT system changes related to collective bargaining agreements

Provide training and support for software upgrades

Offer ongoing technical support for current and new systems

Document process changes and participate in team meetings

HR system patch testing

Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor

Required Qualifications:

Diploma or degree in a relevant field

5 years related experience

Excellent communication skills for interacting with staff and building relationships

Strong HRIS expertise and proficient in HRIS and similar software applications

Experience generating reports and recommending improvements on FTE structures

Proven HR software experience

Comfortable with learning new HR technologies

Proficiency in report building tools and advanced MS Office/Google Suite applications

Ability to prioritize, manage workload, and work independently or collaboratively as part of a team

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent decision-making abilities

Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

In addition, the following will be considered an asset:

Experience working in a school board

Experience in unionized workplaces

Experience with K212 HRP (Human Resource and Payroll Management), Crystal report writer, Applied to Education (ATE), LaserFiche(Repository and Forms), OnSIS, knowledge of the Employment Standards Act (ESA)

This is a temporary full time (1.0 FTE) position with a starting annual salary of $81,639 to be prorated to the FTE and duration of the assignment.

The approximate start date will be August 19, 2024 and anticipated end date of November 15, 2024.
