The NNDSB invites applications for the following LTO position until June 27, 2024:

Position : Grade 7/8 Self-Contained ClassroomRequired teaching qualifications: A valid Ontario College of Teachers Certificate

A valid Certification of Registration from the Ontario College of Teachers

Intermediate Qualifications

Special Education SpecialistPosition Criteria: Demonstrated ability to work with youth who require support with re-engagement, self-regulation, behavior management, social-emotional skills development and self-advocacy

Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as a part of a multi-disciplinary team including working with community partners

Ability to utilize differentiated and experiential instruction to support a wide variety of student learning needs

Ability to write and implement Individual Plans of Care, Education Plans, Transition Plans, Behaviour Management Plans and Safety Plans

Knowledge of Ministry Curriculum and Assessment documents

Evidence of supporting Literacy and Numeracy from a whole school perspective

Demonstrated ability to support student mental health and well-being needs

Deomnestrated ability to utilize EDSBY to support student learning and caregiver communication

Competencies with board-supported and available technology and communication tools (For example, LMS, iPad, Microsoft 365)
