requires a

LICENSED TRADESPERSON (ELECTRICIAN) LOCATION:

Pembroke Plant with frequent travel throughout the County

SCHEDULE:

8 hours per day, 40 hours per week (may include afternoon shift work)

RATE OF PAY:

Group 10 - $33.13 - $34.03 per hour (posted wage rate includes a current additional market adjustment allowance of $2.87 per hour). In addition, we offer a comprehensive benefits package (OMERS pension plan, health and dental coverage, etc.). POSITION

SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the Shop Foreperson or designate, performs electrical maintenance, repair or installation of a variety of systems or equipment. Must maintain an up to date knowledge of the building, electrical and fire protection codes. EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

Grade 12 education or equivalent. Must hold a valid Electrician's License in Construction and Maintenance (309A), and be familiar with the current applicable electrical code, building code, and the Occupational Health & Safety Act of Ontario. Must have a complete knowledge of WHMIS and MSDS for materials used. Must possess a valid driver's license. Experience as a millwright and possession of a Fire Alarm Technician Certificate would be an asset. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Performs electrical repairs to fixtures, distribution equipment and systems, bells, property protection alarms, maintains and repairs sewage level monitoring and pumping systems, clock and timer systems, intercoms, shop machines or equipment, heating and ventilation/air conditioning systems, energy conservation, and building automation systems, frequently without drawings. Must carry out all work in compliance with all applicable codes and regulations and maintains records of all installations, repairs and modifications for Hydro inspection. Works from working drawings, sketches and electronic work orders, prepares material lists and estimates, obtains quotes, installs and services a variety of electrical equipment and systems, fire detection equipment, stage lighting and dimmer systems, emergency lighting systems, public address, intercom, building automation systems, clock and bell systems including the programming of these systems that are computerized, telephone systems and all cables required for various computer systems. Directs other workers and assists with coordination of other trade activities on assignments. Carries out troubleshooting and diagnosis on malfunctioning electrical systems and equipment and performs programmed preventive maintenance on a variety of systems and equipment as necessary. Prepares written reports and other correspondence using applicable computer software including E-Base Maintenance Management Software Program, Excel, Word and email. Performs other related duties.

Hiring will follow the requirements outlined in the CUPE 1247 Collective Agreement and the RCDSB Administrative Procedures. The Board reserves the right not to fill a position.
